狗之吾爱

去年11月，从家园回到迈阿密之后，我计划以增加散步来增进我的健康，但这个计划一直搁置到上个星期才开始付诸实施。其机缘是一个主顾因为商务上的事情要离开一个月，他有一只狗Roxy，正发愁找不到一个合适的地方寄养它。
Roxy是一只英国牛头犬，母性，有18公斤重，从人的年龄来算，已经五周岁了，而以狗的年龄算，应该是三十五岁。
我一直很喜欢狗，但是已经有许多年没养过了，最近的一次养狗经历也比咱们大多数兄弟姐妹的出生日还早；所以，我接受了Roxy，并自愿照顾它到下个月，直到它的主人回来为止。
自那以后，Roxy就每天拉我出去在附近的街坊上转悠，一天两次。如此一来，大大增加了我的锻炼量。
我的女友Cyndi一直很喜欢牛头犬，并且非常想养一只，但我以前认为牛头犬又大又丑，而且其智力评估在八十种狗中也排在第七十八位。然而我之前所不了解的是，这种狗在情感沟通上却是一流。
Roxy很喜欢亲我的脖子和脸，与我们同床共眠……

我感觉，家园将来的分院也应该养几只大而重感情的狗，而且牛头犬应该是首选的品种。普通的中国犬因为常常把自己当猫看，所以要从意识上升华它们是最困难的，因此，中国犬被我认为是家园养狗最末的选择。

When I returned to Miami in November, my plan was to begin walking more to improve my health, but that has not happened, not until last week.
A customer was leaving on business for a month and was having trouble finding a place to board his dog.
Roxy is an eighteen kilogram, female English Bulldog, and is five human years old, thirty-five dog years.
I have always loved dogs but the last one I had was before most of you were born, so I volunteered to care for her for the next month and I am getting a good amount of exercise being pulled around my neighborhood twice each day.
My girlfriend, Cyndi has always loved bulldogs and was excited about this project, but I found them to be ugly, sloppy, plus they rate seventy-eighth out of eighty dogs for intelligence.
What I did not know is that these dogs must also rate somewhere around number one for affection.
She loves to lick my neck and face, and sleeps in bed with us.
A few days ago, I was in that twilight condition, not quite awake but not quite asleep, and realized that Roxy had jumped up on the bed and was sleeping by my feet. I cannot explain the feeling of absolute joy that overcame me.
As soon as Roxy's master returns, we will try to negotiate for a transfer and hope for the best.
I believe that future branches of the Second Home should have several large and affectionate dogs. Bulldogs are best but Chow Chows have got to be the worst because they think they are cats and sublimation is the farthest thing from their minds.
