东南亚朴门永续设计首次大会
                                        -香港召开


South East Asian Bioregional Permaculture Convergence 2012
This first convergence is a call, and a place, where we, south east Asian permaculturists, will have rich opportunities to hear from some of our best people; to learn what we have been achieving, experience innovations, what our thinkers are thinking, and, our activists have been doing, and to celebrate permaculture history in our region.
The convergence is open to Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) holders. We will be able to share discussions, experiences and questions and, to build our network for future contacts and support.
Our future is in our region and we need every person with permaculture vision and skills. Come and share your experiences and be prepared to be motivated and inspired.
The programme of the Convergence will be shaped according to the needs and experience of participants. We have set a theme and keynote speakers. The rest is up to you. If you would like to run a workshop session at the convergence, please fill in Convergence Application Form.
A framework for maximum participation:As the Convergence program will be designed with your input, we would like to put forward the following framework:

The convergence program will be updated according to your needs. You are most welcome to share your suggestions and comments for planning the convergence by emailing us at seasianpc@gmail.com This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
What we have and where you will be:
  • There are two lecture rooms that can accommodate 100 and 150 participants respectively and equipped with white boards, audio-visual aid and internet access.
  • The outdoor gardens with seating and a basketball playground can support workshops that lend themselves to an open-air environment.
  • The Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden is within 20-minutes walk from the Convergence venue and can support additional events and activities in a natural environment.
Applying to offer workshop sessions:If you would like to run a workshop session at the Convergence, please fill in Workshop Proposal Application Form. We need your proposals for your sessions by 30 September 2012 so as to announce the program online well in advance. However we will try our best to accommodate late applications.

Accommodation:Kadoorie Centre of The University of Hong Kong can accommodate 150 people and we will try to meet your accommodation needs given in your booking. We do not have resources to meet everyone’s specific needs. But we will try!
The accommodation is charged separately from the Convergence fee.

*Hong Kong dollar (HK$) is linked to the US dollar at a rate of about 7.80 HKD to 1 USD.
You may also choose to make your own accommodation arrangements by referring to the notes stated in ‘Travel to Hong Kong’.
Meals:Three vegetarian meals a day and refreshments at breaks are included in your convergence fee. If you have special dietary needs such as food allergies, or intolerances please bring along your own food as we do not have the resources to meet specific needs.
Please note that the venue is in a rural area where there are no nearby special whole food shops.
Travel:We will arrange a gathering time at the Hong Kong International Airport on 18 November and have a volunteer to accompany participants travelling to the convergence venue. Detail arrangement will be specified in the confirmation letter. You may refer to Travel to Hong Kong if you wish to make your own arrangements.
Insurance:Participants need to have their own health and travel insurance. Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden does not take any responsibility in this regard.
Convergence fee:HK$1,200 including all the convergence sessions, meals and the final lunch.
Early Birds: 15% discount giving a total of HK$1,000 for applicants who settled payment before 30 September 2012.

Scholarships:A limited number of scholarships is available and the maximum amount of deduction is 50% of the fee for convergence and accommodation*. To apply for a scholarship, please complete Convergence Application Form by 30 September 2012. Scholarship awards will be notified to applicants by 7 October 2012.
*Accommodation: Dormitory for the period of 18-22 November 2012.

There is limited number for the programmes and please indicate your preference in the Convergence Application Form.
The applications of non-PDC holders to the convergence will be considered case by case with priority always being given to PDC holders.
