At Echowood, no person gets stuck doing one job day in and day out. There are no time clocks or strict regimes. Everyone knows what has to be done and naturally pitches in. People tend to find that certain areas interest them more than others and are enjoyable, and there is always the opportunity to explore new areas and learn new skills. This flexibility has the added benefit of breaking up any sense of endless routine or day in day out drudgery.

Work is just one aspect of living at Echowood. We believe in having plenty of time to relax, socialize, create art, or simply be alone. In addition, we strive not to become completely isolated from the rest of the world. Although it's very rural here, we live just an hour from Austin and two hours from San Antonio, and plan to take advantage of the many opportunities those vibrant urban areas provide.

As Echowood develops, our practices will become increasingly sustainable and ‘off the grid.’

Also, the people who live here have varying lifestyles. For example, we have some vegetarians and some non-vegetarians (we accommodate both groups), and some people here smoke while others do not. Unlike some communities, we are not rigid about diet, etc. but we do cook and serve healthy meals and accommodate people's tastes and preferences whenever possible. It is our goal to create an environment of individual freedom within a functioning and cooperative social structure.

共产主义生活方式在吃饭、穿衣、住宿、育人、养老、性爱、生产、工作等，是一套新型的方式，是与当今生活方式完全不同的方式。
共产主义生活方式，是一整共同生活的套生活方式，上述方式都必须存在，而且必须具备共产方式，否则，就不完备。
当我看到美国这一社区时，发现这里不具备共同生活的条件，人们进入后不能安心生活。因为，当你进入时，家人仍然置身社外，他们会相互思念。如何安心！就是说，他们进入社区的方式也是错误的方式。

你的第2家园，事实上就是标准的共产主义社会。
